Riverside Youth Awaken 2024 Consent Form

Riverside Youth Group, along with the wider Riverside Church, will be attending Ground Level’s Awaken Conference, from Friday the 23rd to Monday the 26th August 2024. Awaken is a Christian conference/festival taking place at Lincolnshire Showground. The event is run by the Ground Level Network, a network of churches in the UK spanning multiple denominations. Information of Riverside Church and Youth Group can be found on the Riverside Church website -  www.riversidechurch.org.uk, or by contacting the Youth Staff Worker at josephstone@riversidechurch.org.uk or on 07568 104642. Information about Ground Level, and more details about Awaken, can be found at https://www.groundlevel.org.uk/ or https://awakenevent.uk/.

You will need to book your own tickets for awaken at https://awakenevent.uk/tickets-2024. Additionally, you will need to register and book to stay with Riverside Youth at https://riverside.churchsuite.com/events/a3uyne1e. The cost of staying with Riverside Youth is £25, this is additional to the price of a ticket to awaken, to cover breakfast and lunch from Friday to Monday (Please note we will only be doing a late lunch/early dinner on the Friday). Each child will need to bring money to purchase dinner (or their own food to eat in the evenings). Transport to and from Awaken is not provided - you will need to arrange that yourself. Please speak to a youth leader if cost may be an issue, it should not be an obstacle to someone attending and we have a number of sponsored places.

The Youth who are staying with Riverside will be camping in tents. They will be camping within the wider Riverside Church camping area on the site. We no longer own the large tents, and so the youth will be camping in small groups. We have access to a small number of tents, and will make every effort to make sure that the youth can share a tent with their friends (tents will be strictly single sex occupancy). If you wish to bring your own tent, please let Joseph Stone know at josephstone@riversidechurch.org.uk or on 07568 104642. We will finalise details of sleeping arrangements closer to the event when we know how is coming and how many tents we have. The site is only in use by Ground Level, fenced off and patrolled by security during the event to keep everyone safe. If your child is camping with you (and therefore remaining under your supervision) but wished to eat with the youth, then please sing them up on churchsuite and let us know that they will not be camping. We aim to arrive around 10:00 am on Friday morning, and will be leaving following the final meeting on Monday night, due to end at 9:00 pm on Monday night.

Medical forms will also be required for each child attending. The event is open to young people aged between 11 and 18, who are in school years 7-13. Please let us know of any medical needs or dietary requirements in advance.

Photography and videos will take place over the weekend and images captured may be used for publicity purposes, consent forms can be found on the event page on churchsuite (if not already completed previously).

We expect everyone to abide by the code of conduct set out below, in order to run the weekend effectively and to keep the youth safe from harm.
